The Dad Train Podcast with Scott Davison

What’s the show about?

The Dad Train Podcast explores ideas and strategies on how to be a better man, a better partner and a better dad. I interview experts on a wide range of topics covering self-improvement, relationships and parenting.

The first three episodes are now available

Episode 1. Raising Your Child In A Digital World, with Dr Kristy Goodwin
How much screen time is safe? What are the risks of too much? And why are devices so addictive? Dr Kristy Goodwin answers these and other common concerns about kids and technology. She also shares some productivity hacks for dads and explains why multi-tasking is a myth. Listen now

Episode 2. How To Learn New Skills Faster, with Scott H Young
Whatever new skill you would like to learn, these principles can be applied to master it faster and more effectively. In this episode, I talk with Canadian author Scott Young about his system called Ultralearning. Discover how he completed a 4-year degree in 12 months and mastered 4 foreign languages in a year using his proven strategies. Listen now

Episode 3. The Four Destructive Behaviours That Can Lead To Divorce, with Zach Brittle
Research by John Gottman discovered four behaviours that were statistically linked to divorce. They have been labelled “The Four Horseman Of The Apocalypse”, which are Criticism, Defensiveness, Stonewalling and Contempt. Couples Counsellor Zach Brittle explains how we can identify and manage these behaviours in our relationships. We also discuss date nights, marriage after kids, the impact of COVID-19 on relationships and some really bad dad jokes! Listen now

What’s next?

I’ve got some more episodes going live in the coming weeks, so please subscribe at Apple Podcasts or Spotify so you get notified when they go live.

As I mentioned last week, when I made my public pledge – I’m learning as I go and practising ‘imperfect action’. So please be patient as I get used to this new medium.

Please help support the show

It’s not nice to beg, but I am going to do it anyway 🙂

For a new show such as this, the reviews and comments on Apple Podcasts make a big difference to the shows ranking and will impact how many people see it.

So, if you are an Apple user, please take a few minutes to go to Apple Podcasts and submit a review and a comment. I really do appreciate it.

For everyone else, if you can do a review in whatever app you are using, that would also be great. And most importantly, if you know any other dads that would be interested in the show, please share it with them.

Finally, if you know someone who would make a good guest, please let me know.

P.S. Bonus points if you can guess which 90s Sitcom inspired the theme song for The Dad Train Podcast.
